I hate scammers pushing things like Acai berry miracles, male enhancement pills, crappy ab machines and a whole host of other nonsense.  I will never to do that.

I will however occasionally review and endorse products on my blog.  In some cases, I may have received a free copy of the product in order to review it.  In some cases, I may decide to become an affiliate of the product. However, I do not accept payment for any product review.

I may choose to become an affiliate of products which I believe are truly helpful to my readers, which means I may receive a commission on purchases made through any links I provide.  However, any recommendations I provide are made first and foremost based on the merit of the product.  I make them either because of my true review of the product, the product’s value and quality, or based on my knowledge of the author’s expertise on the subject and his/her reputation.

That said, beginning December 1, 2009, the FTC required bloggers to provide disclosures whenever there could be hidden interests or unspoken biases related to recommendations.

If I interview someone and they buy me dinner, I would need to make you aware of this, as I would if I use an Amazon link that gets me 10 cents instead of one that gets me 0 cents. If someone gives me a mug with a logo and I use it in a photo, ditto. Now imagine having disclaimers all over the blog. Not a good idea or very pleasing to the eye for my readers. So please assume that, for every recommendation, link, and product I use, the following all hold true:  While it certainly is not always the case, you should assume that I have an affiliate relationship and/or another material connection to the providers of goods and services mentioned on Fitbusypeople.com.  You should always perform due diligence before buying goods or services from anyone via the Internet or offline.
