In fact, I just ran across another one that I wanted to share with you. It’s perhaps one of the most well known ones amongst people in the field, the Zutphen Elderly Study.

This study involved 552 middle aged Dutch men. In summary, the study found that the men who ate the most amount of fruits and vegetables had a stroke rate 1/3 that of those eating few fruits and vegetables. The interesting thing about this study was that the most common flavonoid (a nutrient found in plants) in these foods was something called quercetin (a type of flavonoid).

Quercetin has shown great promise crestor westernunion washington generic in preventing cardiovascular disease. Luckily, it is the most abundant flavonoid in foods, with the highest levels occurring in tea, onions, cranberries, kale and apples.

So if you’re not getting your 8-10 servings of fruits and vegetables, hopefully this will help nudge you just a little bit closer. If you don’t, please make sure you’re at least getting the right supplementation.
